OUR STORY

TENCEL® is a cellulose fibre derived from wood pulp in a unique closed loop system that recycles almost 100% of solvent in the closed loop process and is biodegradable.

TENCEL® has a soft, smooth finish, drapes well and absorbs moisture.

TENCEL® is produced by the Lenzing Group which is an environmentally responsible company. Their policies for the TENCEL® production includes:

- Striving to source wood and pulp exclusively from non-controversial sources, preferring suppliers participating in credible forest certification programs.

- Regular risk-assessments, audits and on-site visits as well as independent third-party certification of the sustainable forest management programs help to ensure the policy compliance.






People Tree's TENCEL® collection is produced by Creative Handicrafts, a social enterprise working to empower disadvantage women in Mumbai through economic independence. 

New in for AW17 is a TENCEL® and Organic Cotton blended jersey collection made by Etfor. They are GOTS certified and based in Portugal.
